Groton – Police said a two-car crash that shut down Gold Star Highway (Route 184) for almost an hour Friday afternoon remains under investigation.

The 2:15 p.m., two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 184 and Gungywamp Road closed the Route 184 for about an hour as Groton Town police and fire and rescue personnel responded and investigated the scene.

Two elderly occupants were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Charges have not been filed as police continue to investigate the crash, police said.

Both vehicles appeared to be total losses.
