New London

I am writing in response to David Collin's Feb. 1 commentary, "$7,600 in property taxes, to look at a Dumpster," that now, due to the bad decision making of the New London Planning and Zoning Commission, is allowed to remain where it is across the street from my house, as well as that of Jill Sleasman's.
Who would believe it? It's OK because moving it to the most logical position would mean "the marina would have less space to lease to boat owners for winter storage." Are you kidding me? You mean, they might make less money? You mean their profits are worth more than the protection of our homes?
How about Mayor Finizio coming down here to apologize to us for yet another outrageous decision regarding New London home owners? This one is happening now, on his watch, not years before he ever hit town. The stipulations that the dumpster is not to be emptied before 8 a.m. or on Sundays, and that it is supposed to remain locked, are a farce, and the commission knows it.
