Lisbon — State police Monday arrested a Plainfield man who they say was shoplifting at Walmart.

Adam Daggett, 30, of 41 Pratt Road, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree robbery, interfering with police and breach of peace.

Police said Daggett put several items from the store into his pocket. When he attempted to leave the store, he was approached by a Loss Prevention staff member. Daggett, police said, used force to leave the store.

State police responded and used a canine to track Daggett in a wooded area where he was last seen. Daggett was found and arrested without incident.

Police found that he had three outstanding warrants from Pennsylvania. As a result, he was also charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Daggett is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Feb. 23.
