Branford Police Incident Report for Jan. 30 and 31

The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Monday, Jan. 30

• A 34 year-old woman of a Jefferson Road apartment was arrested at 7:32 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. While in custody she was charged at 11:38 p.m. with violation of a protective order.

Tuesday, Jan. 31

• A 55 year-old woman of Monticello Drive was arrested at 2:47 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and threatening.

• A 44 year-old Hamden woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:55 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension.

• A 30 year-old Manchester man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:53 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 48 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:58 p.m. for failure to have insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 24 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:25 p.m. for failure to have insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 23 year-old Hamden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:30 p.m. for reckless driving, failure to have insurance, and evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident).

• From January 25 to 31 Branford police also issued 43 citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, 36 citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, 21 citations for failure to obey a control signal, five citations for traveling unreasonably fast, and five citations for failure to obey a stop sign.
