The family of Ted and Catherine Hespeler of Tower Avenue, Groton, who were married on June 7, 1952, at the Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church in Groton, honored them on Saturday, June 2, at the Fisherman Restaurant in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Hosting the events were the couple's children and their spouses, Ted and Mary Ellen Hespeler Jr. of Groton, Stephen Hespeler of Groton, Richard and Geri Hespeler of Stonington, John and Luanne Hespeler of Ledyard.

Also in attendance was Lee Umrysz of Groton, the husband of the couple's daughter, Dina Umrysz, who is deceased.

There are 14 grandchildren.

Mr. Hespeler retired from Pfizer Inc. in 1988. His bride, the former Catherine Ackley of Groton, is a homemaker.
