The Westerly-based Washington Trust Bancorp Inc.'s board of directors declared Thursday a quarterly dividend of 23 cents a share for the second quarter.
The dividend was unchanged from the first-quarter amount. But the bank increased its dividend by a penny a share this year compared to the 22 cents a share given out last year.
The second-quarter dividend will be paid July 13 to shareholders of record on July 2.
Washington Trust Bancorp is the parent of The Washington Trust Company, a state-chartered bank founded in 1800 and headquartered in Westerly. Washington Trust is the oldest community bank in the nation.
