Kudos to the Groton town staff and Town Council for preserving 30 acres around Thomas Road land for open space ("Groton to spend nearly $1 million," June 9). As a taxpayer, I'm glad to contribute to the public good. By wisely piecing together funding from several sources, Groton is protecting a beautiful area for future generations. This is just what good government should do.
