Mr. and Mrs. Michael Pappas of Groton will be honored on their 70th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2012, at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Michael and Nita will celebrate their long, blissful marriage with their children and spouses, Debbie and Tony Siderewicz, Michelle and Alan Carbbe, Kathy Pappas, Cheryl Pappas, and Minerva Sadorra. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren will also join in the celebration, Michael and Meghan with son, Michael, Adam and Jessica, Justin and Jena with son, Tyler, Dana and Kyle with daughter, Katie, Andre with children, Myriah and Calin, and Erin and Neal.

Michael is a retired Waterford building inspector and Nita retired from Clark Lane Middle School as a teacher's aide.

Michael and Nita were married on June 28, 1942, in New York City.
