New London - More than a dozen more corporate sponsors have agreed to back OpSail2012 Connecticut, the tall ships event that's less than two weeks away.
Organizers announced Monday that the latest to join the list of sponsors are AT&T, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Cross Sound Ferry, Groton Utilities, Metrocast, Mitchell College, People's Bank, Pfizer and Riverbank Construction.
Also signing on, organizers said, are Durant Ventures, M. Barrett Painting, Defender, Thames Towboat and CH2M.
OpSail, featuring a parade of more than 20 ships, will take place July 6-9 in New London Harbor.
Sponsors announced previously include: Chelsea Groton Bank, Comcast Spotlight, Cumulus Broadcasting, Dime Bank, Dominion Energy, Electric Boat, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Hall Communications, Legrand, Levine Distributing, Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Ocean Marketing, The Coca Cola Co., The Day Publishing Co., The Resident, Waterford Hotel Group and WTNH-TV.
OpSail will take place alongside New London's SailFest, the street festival that's been an annual tradition for three decades, and in cooperation with the town of East Lyme.
