• Two-time All-Area first team selection Joey Barile has been Griswold's best golfer for the last two years. In his senior season, he earned ECC Small Division all-star status, finishing with the lowest differential at 3.95. He fired a 77 at the ECC Open, tying for fifth place and helping the Wolverines place fourth overall. At the Division III state tournament, he tied for 10th with an 80. He is a member of the National Honor Society and received the Austin Lisee Golf Appreciation Award. This fall he plans to attend Assumption College.
• Norwich Free Academy sophomore Justin Bohara is the youngest member of the All-Area first team, moving up from second team status last spring. An ECC Large all-star, he was fourth in his division in differential with a 3.7. He tied for third with a 74 at the highly-competitive Wildcat Invite and also shot an 84 in the ECC Open. Bohara is an honor roll student.
• Stonington junior Chris Bovino, a two-time All-Area first team pick, excels on the golf course and in the classroom. He was the No. 1-ranked golfer in the ECC Medium with a differential of 2.85 and made the division all-star team. In the ECC Open, he shot a respectable 79 to tie for 12th overall and led the Bears to sixth place. His scholastic achievements include honor roll status and National Honor Society. He's considering attending Franklin Pierce and Assumption.
• Old Lyme junior Matti Fuller continues to improve his game. Playing No. 1 for the Wildcats, he was a first team All-Shoreline selection, posting a 3.2 differential, and also earned all-state honors. He shot an 81 at the Division IV state tournament to lead Old Lyme to 10th place. He also had an 84 at the Shoreline tournament. He is an honor roll student.
• Waterford senior Nick Hedden capped a fine high school career by making the All-Area first team for the second consecutive season. An ECC Medium Division all-star, he had the third best differential (3.88) in his division. In the Division II state tournament, he tied for second with a 74. He also tied for fifth at the ECC Open (77) and tied for ninth at the Wildcat Invite (78). He competed in the New England tournament, shooting an 81.
• Norwich Free Academy junior Nick Kamireddy is an All-Area first team selection for the second straight year. He was the No. 2-ranked golfer in the ECC Large with a differential of 2.78 and earned all-conference honors. He posted the lowest scoring average on NFA and received team MVP honors for the Wildcats, who shared the conference regular-season title. In tournament play, he placed fourth in the ECC Open with a 76 and tied for sixth in the Wildcat Invitational with a 76. An honor roll student, he's interested in Wake Forest.
