I appreciate you publishing on July 1 my op-ed on OpSail 2012CT and Nathan Hale ("OpSail Connecticut keeps our nation's history alive"). Good job, too, with all the fine work you have done to promote this historic event.
In anticipation of a flood of letters correcting me on my quote from Nathan Hale - "but one life to give" for his country - I submit my draft where I write "but one life to lose" for his country. Hale's statue in Hartford, where I served for 10 years has it right although I often hear speakers use the word "give."
While this is a small detail, the history buffs will notice it.
And as a veteran, I will comment we are prepared to lose our lives but we will never "give" our lives to the enemy. They have to take our life in which case it is lost.
Thanks again for all you do.
