Buttons go on sale Tuesday for New London’s Fall Food Stroll

New London - Buttons go on sale Tuesday for New London Main Street's 17th annual Fall Food Stroll Oct. 17, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Chefs from the historic Waterfront District's finest eateries will prepare samples of their signature dishes, and the eighth Culinary Excellence Competition is back with chef instructors from Johnson & Wales University as guest judges.

Local bands will perform throughout the stroll and galleries and specialty shops will hold drawings and offer special discounts and promotions. Nearly 50 eateries and businesses are expected to participate.

Buttons are available at the Main Street office, 147 State St., second floor, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, for $25 and include a free drink coupon. Buttons will cost $30 on the day of the stroll.

The discount for members of the military and students with identification are $20 in advance or $25 on stroll day. New this year, groups that purchase six or more buttons in advance will receive a 20 percent ($20 per button).
