The family-friendly annual Holiday Train Show exhibit opens its 19th season on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Connecticut River Museum in Essex.

Train artist Steve Cryan will showcase more trains, new scenery, and other surprises in the fully operational 26-foot model train layout. Visitors are challenged to find a scavenger list of various objects hidden within the settings while the very young can get hands-on at the expanded American Flyer and Lionel train layout designed for toddler-size viewing. This show runs through Feb. 10 and is open daily Tuesday through Sunday.

Connecticut River Museum is located at 67 Main St. and may be reached at (860) 767-8269.
