Death of woman found under pier ruled accidental

New London – A woman found under a pier in June died from an accidental drug overdose, the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Tuesday.

Katie Valvo, 29, of a last known address of Otis, Mass., was found under a Waterfront Park pier around 7:45 a.m. June 20 when a man reported the death at police headquarters.

Police have not confirmed the status of their investigation into the death.
