Art Fest to raise funds for hurricane relief

The John Winthrop Middle School Art Department holds Art Fest Sandy, a fundraiser to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Artists' Walk Gallery at John Winthrop Middle School, 1 Winthrop Road, Deep River.

Works of art by students and staff in the school system are available for suggested donations. All proceeds will benefit the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Works include jewelry, drawings, paintings, sculpture and various crafts. Also that night is the John Winthrop Arts and Learning Expo, which includes a concert from the music department and examples of works from various classes.
