Boy oh boy: One Direction in concert at Mohegan Sun

In her round-up of "The Most Fascinating People of 2012," Barbara Walters has decided that the year's most intriguing include: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Olympian Gabby Douglas, "Fifty Shades of Grey" author EL James ... and the boys in One Direction.

Not sure if Walters first picked One Direction or Hillary Clinton for inclusion, but the teens with the very considered haircuts and the wildly screaming girl fans are part of the annointed.

Before the Walters special airs on Dec. 12, though, One Direction will be at Mohegan Sun for concerts on Friday and Saturday. This is a follow-up to their performance at the Sun in May. It comes ahead of the start of a 2013 world tour that kicks off in February.

Since that earlier Sun gig, One Direction has released its second CD, "Take Me Home," which is a huge chart hit (no surprise there). The group is also working on a 3-D film with - and this is odd - director Morgan Spurlock, who is best-known for his documentary "Super Size Me." That movie is expected to make its way into multiplexes in August.
