New London police, firefighters hold toy drive Sunday

New London’s police and fire departments will team up Sunday for their fourth annual holiday toy drive.

"The toys will be provided to the New London Neighborhood Alliance who will distribute them to families in need through their Adopt a Family program," said firefighter Joe Nott in a news release.

The group, with lights flashing, will collect the toys between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday in the Waterford Toys R Us parking lot.

"We understand how important the gift of giving is, especially to less fortunate families and are glad to assist," police officer Justin Clacherie said. "This year we hope our program is able to smile on as many deserving children as we can with the help from the public, who have been very generous."

Yes, it's highly suggestive and inappropriate at a school function.
No, teens will be teens. A ban would just encourage them more.
What's grinding? The Charleston is the last dance I learned.
