PEL Associates of Stonington was named one of 75 Connecticut tech companies to watch this month at the 2012 Innovation Summit in New Haven.

The summit, presented by the Connecticut Technologies Council, included an array of companies, from start-ups to more mature firms, all with promising futures.

PEL Associates, headed by Mort Wallach and located in the Quiambaug Cover Professional Center, has been developing an array of patented technologies, one of the most interesting of which involves border security. Wallach, a systems engineer, said his system using cameras and sensors is intended to track smugglers, terrorists and illegal immigrants.
