The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is participating in the newly launched Reuse Marketplace, a web-based resource to capture value, exchange reusable items, save money and reduce waste, DEEP announced in a news release Monday.
The Reuse Marketplace, www.ReuseMarketplace.org, is a free regional website that businesses, municipalities, institutions and organizations in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont can use for posting or obtaining reusable or surplus materials that would otherwise be thrown out. Members create free accounts and post listings for items they would like to obtain, or those they are getting rid of. Actual exchange transactions are carried out directly between the parties. For information about joining, contact Lynn Rubinstein at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call (802) 254-3636.
