Two large piles of beach sand dominate the horizon Tuesday near Westerly Town Beach. Crews from Cherenzia Excavation are gathering the scattered sand, then filtering out rocks and debris and in the process creating the large masses of beach sand. Cleanup efforts continue along the coast in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

As part of the cleanup process, huge piles of sand are appearing along the Westerly shoreline.

Generally speaking, it's been respectful, appropriate and poignant.
It varies. Some organizations have covered this tragedy with class, others have been too sensationalistic.
I'm outraged. These news outlets are not giving the victims' families and Newtown residents the space they need to grieve.
I think the coverage has been respectful to the victims and their families, but I was alarmed by the amount of erroneous information put out by the mainstream media on the day of the shooting.
