A salute to Elizabeth McIntosh's long-ago-written, never-before-published account of the attack on Pearl Harbor and to The Day for its front-page coverage of this amazing article, "First-hand account of Pear Harbor attack published 71 years later," (Dec. 7).
McIntosh's words are so insightful, so impactful not only from a reporter's first-hand perspective of this horrific bombing raid, but also for her inspiring words to the women of the times illustrating the important contributions they could make towards the war efforts. How unfortunate that her words were silenced because the powers that be felt they were too traumatic for readers. How grateful we should be that her words are now published for all to consider - and to remember.
