In coordination with Give Kids a Smile Day, Dr. Robert Strick will be providing free dental screenings for patients ages 3-21. The free dental screenings will take place on Jan. 4 from 8 a.m-noon at his office on 16 Osgood St., Norwich. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Give Kids A Smile is a community program founded and sponsored by the American Dental Association and co-sponsored by Connecticut State Dental Association.

The Mystic Aquarium has been named the December recipient of the Business of the Month award by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce. Mystic Aquarium is a division of Sea Research Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization. The aquarium is open year-round and offers more than 300 species and an extensive collection of marine mammals, including New England's only beluga whales.

The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Backus Technology Center, 10 Stott Ave. A buffet and cash bar will be provided. To register, go to www.norwichchamber.com.
