Old Lyme - George Logan finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in the Old Lyme High School boys' basketball team's 56-51 loss Monday to Valley Regional of Deep River.
Both teams were previously unbeaten in the Shoreline Conference.
Andrew Tyrol added 14 points and Matti Fuller eight for Old Lyme (6-2).
In other games:
• Mike Barrett scored 19 points to help lift Old Saybrook to a 62-61 win over visiting Waterford. Danny Craig led Waterford (3-4) with 17 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, while David Willox finished with 11 and Jordan Hamler 10.
Girls' basketball
• Holy Family pulled away in the second half to defeat Norwich Tech 35-19 in the Constitution State Conference. Tyra Wolchesky had six points and 11 rebounds for Norwich Tech (1-7, 0-5) and Saige Laquitara added seven rebounds.
Men's hockey
• UConn coach Bruce Marshall, who has been on medical leave since Nov. 6, 2012, resigned. Assistant coach Dave Berard will continue to serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Marshall, a 1985 UConn graduate, was in his 25th season as head coach.
"During my time away from the program, I determined that this decision was in the best interest for myself, my family and the UConn men's ice hockey team," Marshall said in a statement. "I am extremely proud of the accomplishments of the program during my time as a Husky and I wish nothing but success for the team as it continues to make the exciting transition to Hockey East."
