Thumbs Up and Down

I am writing to commend our local citizens who have done a terrific job of clearing the sidewalks in Guilford after this last snowstorm. I have the pleasure of walking every day from the Town Green down to the Town Marina and back. The sidewalks along Whitfield Street have been completely cleared of snow and ice from Broad Street all the way down to Seaside Avenue. However, from the intersection of Seaside down to the marina, the sidewalk along Whitfield Street was never shoveled at all and it is an icy, treacherous mess. I, and other walkers, have been forced to walk in the road for that stretch.
I give my hearty thanks to all the homeowners who cleared the sidewalks in front of their homes, and thumbs down to those few homeowners who didn't (perhaps they had a valid excuse).
