Man hit by car in New London

New London – A 69-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car Wednesday evening in the area of 150 Williams St., police said.

The man was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of injuries, said Deputy Chief Peter Reichard. The extent of his injuries are unknown.

Officers are investigating the accident, which occurred at around 10:05 p.m.

The area of Broad and Channing streets was closed Wednesday night.
