UConn guard Shabazz Napier practiced Friday for the first time since suffering a left shoulder contusion in a loss to No. 1 Louisville Monday.
Napier experienced some discomfort and was somewhat limited while participating in a light workout late this afternoon at the Petersen Events Center on the Pittsburgh campus.
His playing status is a game time decision for Saturday's noon time Big East game against the Panthers, according to UConn.
He’ll receive treatment tonight and tomorrow.
Even if Napier plays, it’s hard to say how limited the starting point guard will be playing with the injury. He’s still dealing with some lingering pain.
Napier is having a terrific junior season, averaging a team-best 17.1 points. He leads the team in minutes with 36.3 per game.
Also, he’s the only player in the Big East averaging at least 15 points, four rebounds and four assists per game.
