Old Lyme bridge repairs will bring some lane closures

Old Lyme — Repairs to the Flat Rock Hill Road Bridge over I-95 will lead to lane closures beginning Friday, the state Department of Transportation announced.

The construction project, scheduled to be completed in November  2014, will replace the bridge’s deck and parapets, repair the substructure and improve drainage at the approaches, according to a DOT press release.

DOT reports the following lane closures:

• Flat Hill Rock Road is restricted to alternating one-way traffic using a temporary traffic signal.

• I-95 Northbound between exits 70 and 71 might be restricted to one-lane during the following times: Monday – Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 7 a.m.; Saturday 9 p.m. to Sunday 8 a.m.; and Sunday 9 p.m. to Monday 6 a.m.

• I-95 Southbound between exits 70 and 71 might be restricted to one lane during the followings times: Monday – Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 6 a.m.; Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 8 a.m.; and Sunday 11 p.m. to Monday 9 a.m.

Travelers can expect delays during “active construction,” according to DOT.
