The Town of Chester will host its 23rd annual Winter Carnivale on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the center of town. The event features an ice-carving competition from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., a chili cook-off, the Chester Tractor Parade at 2 p.m., face painting, street performers and more.
Events are free, with the exception of the Chilly Chili Cook-off, held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chester Hose Company Fire House, 6 High Street. The $5 donation for the cook-off allows attendees to taste the different chilis and vote for their favorites, with proceeds benefiting the Chester Hose Company.
Parking is available in the commuter lot at Exit 6, with a courtesy shuttle bus to the town center. For more information, visit www.visitchesterct.com.
