Waterford — A boy was injured late this afternoon when he was thrown off an all terrain vehicle he was driving on the ice and snow covered roadway on Locust Court, according to police.
The boy, whose name was not available, was taken by ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.
According to Lt. Jeffrey V. Nixon, a public works truck that was clearing the road notified the town's Emergency Communications Center of the accident, which occurred between 37 and 41 Locust Court, at about 5:28 p.m.
Police, fire and ambulance crews responded, and the roadway remained closed for a brief period for an investigation. Police said the initial investigation indicates that the boy lost control of the ATV, at which time the ATV rolled and he was ejected.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone having information is asked to call the police at 860-442-9451.
Finally, there is sunlight at the end of the snow tunnel. How will you spend your snowbound Saturday?
