East Lyme — The Board of Education on Monday approved a $42,591,731 budget for the 2013-14 school year.
The amount approved at Monday’s meeting is a 3.3 percent increase over the current year’s budget.
The school district’s budget incorporates expenditures, such as $426,000 for full-day kindergarten and $133,000 for the state-mandated teacher evaluation system, according to the Superintendent of Schools’ presentation to the board in January. It also reflects savings, including a $120,000 decrease in utility bills for the district.
