Charles L. Marsh Sr. Westerly
Publication: The Day
Year after year, why are ordinary citizens constantly forced to defend their neighborhoods in Westerly against greedy developers?
Simple, in my opinion - the town administration, and council, could care less about the interests of local neighborhoods. It's either that, or they are clueless to the incessant degradation of the town's character by unscrupulous developers and a rigged zoning board "gaming the system."
It is all too obvious the council members keep their mouths shut until the town manager tells them what to say, or until, once again, another band of outraged neighborhood citizens storm the Town Council chambers. Is this really the type of leadership we want in Westerly?
