Insurance license extensions

Published February 15. 2013 4:00AM

Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Thomas B. Leonardi announced Wednesday that an automatic 90-day extension will be granted for insurance adjusters who were granted emergency licenses in October for Storm Sandy.

The extension is intended to allow insurance companies to deal with an anticipated heavy volume of damage claims from the weekend blizzard. The department issued nearly 6,000 emergency adjuster licenses to more than 90 insurance companies for Storm Sandy requests.

The department's Catastrophe Adjuster Licensing Program was initiated over the weekend to process new applications daily. Insurance companies can access the Catastrophe Adjuster Licensing Program online through the insurance department website, http://www.ct.gov/cid/.

No, events in the sky don't interest me much. I'm much more concerned with what's happening here on the ground.
