North Carolina's Jeanne Jolly, former featured vocalist for trumpeter Chris Botti, is pursuing a solo career. Her debut album, a delicately beautiful exercise in what might be called Appalachian pop-folk, is called "Angels," and Jolly performs with her trio on Sunday in Westerly's Perks and Corks.

Jolly's trip to the Northeast is hardly her first visit, though; the classically trained singer/songwriter has a masters in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory.

In addition to astonishing vocal chops, her songs should delight fans of artists ranging from Emmylou Harris and k.d. lang to Kim Richey and Linda Ronstadt.
