Jason Aldean brings his kinda party to Mohegan Sun

Once ain't enough: When tickets went on sale, country superstar Jason Aldean immediately sold out tonight's show in the Mohegan Sun Arena. A second performance takes place Friday.

Color him independent: Eschewing Nashville's traditional big labels, Aldean records for the independent Broken Bow folks, for whom he's released five albums and numerous singles of easy-on-the-ears honky-pop - virtually all of which essentially glued themselves to the charts. The latest CD, "Night Train," debuted last fall at number one on Billboard.

Homework: Aldean's parents divorced when he was young. Spending his summers with his father, the young Aldean would spend his days practicing guitar chord charts his father would leave him before going off to work. Hank Williams, George Strait and Alabama all resonated with the kid - not bad musical DNA at all.
