Local actors will ‘Play it Again’

Published March 01. 2013 4:00AM

Chelsea Players will hold auditions for its spring production, Woody Allen's "Play it again, Sam" on Monday, March 11, and Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the United Congregational Church hall, 87 Broadway, Norwich. Performance dates are May 17, 18, 24 and 25.

The play centers around Allen Felix, a film journalist who has no luck with women. Fortunately, Allen has a vivid imagination, so his hero, Humphrey Bogart, appears and gives him advice on how to succeed with women.

There are parts for three men in their 20s to age 55 and eight parts for women ages 16 to 50. During auditions, actors will be asked to read from the script. There are also backstage positions available.
