New England wrestling/indoor track qualifiers

Following is a list of local wrestlers and their early-round matchups at the 2013 New England tournament at Providence Career and Technical Academy (see schedule below):

113 pounds - Kareem Small (East Lyme): drew bye in first round, faces Mac Hamilton (Lincoln Sudbury, Mass.)-Antonia Ayala (Foxcroft, Me.) winner in second round.

120 - Devon MarcAurele (Ledyard): faces Cody Jolley (Spaulding, Vt.) in first round.

182 - Colin Grim (Ledyard): drew bye in first round, faces Rufus Arrah-Effege (Malden, Mass.)-Hunter Boesch (Bishop Hendricken, R.I.) winner in second round.

220 - Ben Morales (Ledyard): faces Hunter Longland (Hollis Brooklin, N.H.) in first round

Schedule (subject to change)

Today - Preliminary round, 5 p.m.; first round, 6:45 p.m.; consolation first round, 9:05 p.m.

Saturday - Championship quarterfinals and consolation second round, 9 a.m.; consolation third round, 11:15 a.m.; championship semifinals and consolation quarterfinals, 1 p.m.; consolation semfinals, 3:30 p.m.; championship finals and consolation finals (third and fifth place), 6:30 p.m.

Following is a list of local qualifiers for Saturday's New England indoor track and field championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass.:


55-meter hurdles: Chenoa Sebastian (Ledyard), 8.50 seconds.

300: Dyshelle Pemberton (NFA), 41.06.

1,000: Brianna Lenehan (NFA), 2:58.83; Lauren Scahill (Ledyard), 3:03.05.

4x400 relay: NFA (Camille McKenzie, Charlotte Van Sambeck, MiaLynne Park, Dyshelle Pemberton, 4:05.59.

High jump: Mercedes Santos (New London), 5 feet, 2 inches.

Shot put: Kelsen Shukis (East Lyme), 35-2 1-2.


55-meter dash: Martin Lewerk (NFA), 6.61 seconds.

300: Joe Carter (Ledyard), 35.22; Chris Jones (Waterford), 36.16; Alex Paterson (Ledyard), 36.31.

600: Ben Ostrowski (East Lyme), 1:22.73; Kyle Liang (NFA), 1:23.87.

4x800 relay: East Lyme (Ben Ostrowski, Tim Myers, Andrew Bernard, Scott Butler), 8:17.44.

Long jump: Lexus Gordon (Fitch), 21 feet, 3 inches.
