Author Ann Hood comes to Bank Square Books

Published March 02. 2013 4:00AM

Providence author Ann Hood celebrates the publication of her latest book, "The Obituary Writer: A Novel" (W.W. Norton), during a luncheon at noon Tuesday at Mystic's Bank Square Books.

Hood, whose bestselling works include "The Knitting Circle" and "The Red Thread," will read and discuss the new book. It's described as a literary mystery and a love story about the lives of Claire and Vivien, two women who persevere during different cataclysmic events decades apart. Yes, there's a connection between them - but that's not a spoiler.

A $27 luncheon ticket is required to attend; it includes a copy of "The Obituary Writer," a catered lunch including choice of wine or sparkling water and, of course, a reading by and discussion with Ann Hood.
