Joseph and Sherlynn Siderewicz of Waterford are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaclyn Rae Siderewicz, to Shane Joseph LaPointe, son of Joseph and Hortensia LaPointe of Willington.

Jaclyn, a 2004 graduate of Waterford High School, earned a bachelor's degree in 2009 in biological sciences from the University of Connecticut. She is pursuing a master's degree in biology from Brown University and is currently employed as a senior associate scientist at Pfizer, Inc. in Groton.

Shane, a 1997 graduate of Edwin O. Smith High School, earned a bachelor's degree in 2005 in communications from the University of Connecticut. He is currently employed as a project engineer for QuEST Global in East Hartford.

A June 2014 wedding is planned.
