Gov. Malloy recently issued his "Common Sense Gun Safety Reforms." Very few items are sensible and would have little impact on crime.

His use of the term military style assault weapons is used to instill fear. He recommends banning every variation of modern semi-automatic rifles by including all the cosmetic options, ignoring the fact that criminal use is less than 1 percent.

He also decided to attack traditional hunting rifle and shotgun owners by requiring purchasing a permit. A background check is currently required for all firearm purchases through dealers.

Malloy wants to track ammunition purchases with background checks and registration. ATF abandoned this practice citing it was not useful.

He wants to restrict magazine capacity to 10 rounds or they must be sold out of state, altered or turned in, causing major issues with legally purchased property being devalued by alterations or forcibly sold or disposed of due to invasive state regulations.

The governor's proposed reforms maliciously assault over 300,000 lawful citizens simply because they own firearms.

Even though they had no part in the horrific events in Newtown, the governor is using this event and the pain and suffering of that community to promote his hateful agenda against lawful gun owners.
