Norwich - Police and two of the city’s volunteer fire companies responded tonight to a hit and run incident involving two accident scenes.
No serious injuries were reported after the 7:20 p.m. incident on Norwich Avenue. It was unclear whether the suspect, who dispatchers said was driving a silver PT Cruiser registered to a Taftville address, had been apprehended.
At 120 Norwich Ave., the Taftville Fire Department treated a female patient with a neck injury and took her to The William W. Backus Hospital. A fire official said the injury was “not severe.” At 630 Norwich Ave., members of the Occum Fire Department said, emergency personnel treated a pregnant female who had what appeared to be a minor injury, and a child who appeared uninjured.
The Taftville fire company also went to 64½ B Street after a caller reported that smoke was coming from car involved in the incident. The car was overheating, according to a fire official.
