Frozen yogurt store to open

Bill Wild, an executive with Jaypro Sports in Waterford, has announced that he is opening Peachwave FroYo East Lyme at the Midway Plaza shopping center. The 2,200-square-foot eatery is not a franchise, but is privately operated under a licensing agreement.

The East Lyme Zoning Commission approved a special permit for the operation earlier this month. The grand opening is set for May.

Wild said frozen yogurt is starting to catch on because of its lower calorie and cholesterol counts than ice cream. Many Peachwave products are fat- and gluten-free.
