Waterford — A 54-year-old man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon following a one-car accident on Butlertown Road near the Montville border, according to police.
The man, who was operating a U.S. Postal Service delivery vehicle, was taken by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital, according to police.
Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene at about 1:47 p.m. No passengers were in the vehicle.
The police department's Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident. Police are not releasing the man's name until they notify family members.
Police are asking people who witnessed the accident or the saw the vehicle or driver on Butlertown Road before the accident to call Waterford police at (860) 442-9451.
