Westerly — Ledyard police, with the assistance of the Westerly  and Hopkington police departments, arrested Tuesday a Westerly man who they say was involved in the residential burglary of a vacant home.

James Taylor, 35, of 23 Newton St., Westerly, was charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary.

Taylor is being held by Westerly police on numerous warrants and will be presented in New London Superior Court when he is released by Rhode Island authorities.

On Dec. 20, Ledyard police said they responded to the burglary of a vacant home during which time copper pipe was taken.

Ledyard police also arrested Jeffrey Chapman, of Pawcatuck, in connection with the burglary and also arrested Chapman for the burglary of the Ledyard Sportsman Club that occurred on the same day.

The New London Police Department also assisted in the burglary investigations.
