Hartmann appointment approved by N.J. regulators

Jeffrey Hartmann's appointment last week as interim chief executive officer of Revel casino in Atlantic City has been approved by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, which licenses New Jersey casinos and their key employees.

Hartmann appeared before the commission Tuesday and was granted regulatory clearance, Revel AC Inc., the casino's parent company, announced. Revel is expected to file a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization plan this week.

Hartmann, an Old Lyme resident, spent 16 years at Mohegan Sun, including 21 months as president and chief executive officer before departing last September. He has also worked for Foxwoods Resort Casino.
