Youth Drug Ring Busted on Gun, Drug Charges

Four shoreline residents have been arrested as part of an eight-month Clinton Police Department investigation into a group using and selling illegal drugs at the Skate Park and other locations in Clinton. The department executed 14 arrest warrants today and the four suspects are scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior court at later dates. As a result of the investigation, police also developed information on other unrelated crimes and arrest warrants were issued. The subjects arrested are from Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook.

David Nazario, 21, of Glenwood Road, Clinton, was arrested for possession of a sawed off shotgun, third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, sale of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Nazario was held on total of $100,000 in bonds and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior court on March 21.

Brett Tucker, 19, of Allendale Road, Old Saybrook, was arrested for four counts of the sale of sale of marijuana, three counts of possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, and three counts possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Tucker was taken into custody with the assistance of the Eastern Connecticut State University Police in Willimantic. He was transported to the Clinton Police department where he is being held on bond and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior court on March 21.

A 17 year old male from Westbrook was arrested in Westbrook with the assistance of the Connecticut State Police. The juvenile was charged with two counts of the sale of narcotics, two counts of the sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and conspiracy to sell narcotics. A 15 year old male from Clinton was charged with two counts of to sell marijuana 53a-48 (21a-278).

Police have other warrants for suspects and more arrests are expected.
