Huskies' Olander arrested

UConn junior Tyler Olander is spending part of spring break in jail after being arrested early Thursday morning and charged with trespassing in Panama City Beach, Fla.

He is being held at Bay County Jail in Panama City.

According to a Bay County spokesperson, Olander was arrested at 3:12 a.m. after being told several times to leave beach property. He is scheduled to have a video bonding hearing from jail this afternoon.

Olander, a 20-year-old from Mansfield, appeared in 29 games for the Huskies, starting 26. He averaged 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds.

He recently had surgery on his fractured left foot, an injury that kept him out of the regular-season finale against Providence on March 9.

When contacted Thursday afternoon, UConn basketball spokesperson Phil Chardis declined to comment on Olander's arrest, adding that the university is aware of the situation and gathering information.

Olander is the second UConn basketball player to be arrested in less than two months.

Reserve center Enosch Wolf was suspended indefinitely after being arrested and charged with third degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct following an on-campus domestic incident on Feb. 11. He missed the final eight games.

Wolf appeared in Rockville Superior Court on Wednesday and his case was continued until April 24.
