Niantic robbery suspect found hiding on roof

East Lyme — A man wanted for a robbery that allegedly occurred Friday afternoon by the Dunkin' Donuts in Niantic was arrested after police found him attempting to hide out on the roof of a building adjacent to the coffee shop.

East Lyme and state police were called to 255 Main St. shortly before 4:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a robbery in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. The coffee shop is across the street from the East Lyme police station.

Sean Rolfe, 25, of 23 Grassy Hill Road, East Lyme, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

Rolfe was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.
