Comix at Foxwoods welcomes Lenny Clarke

Published March 28. 2013 4:00AM

Comic at Comix: Lenny Clarke, that hilarious comedian with that inimitable Boston accent, settles into Comix at Foxwoods for three nights of performances.

The best of times, the worst of times: Clarke had a great run for seven seasons on the acclaimed TV series "Rescue Me," co-starring his buddy Denis Leary. On the other hand ... he had a role on the NBC sitcom "Are You There, Chelsea," which lasted just a couple of months in 2012. He had his own sitcom, too, "Lenny," back in 1990-91. He played - wait for it - a blue-collar guy from Boston.

Beyond the pale: Clarke will do four shows at Comix at Foxwoods, including a "Nasty Show" Saturday night. "Nasty" is a new series of national-headliner shows that Comix at Foxwoods is offering. The venue says these shows are "not for the faint of heart or easily offended" because "lines will be crossed and common decency will be left at the door." Um, I thought that's already how it is at most standup gigs?

Lenny Clarke, 8 p.m. tonight-Saturday, Comix at Foxwoods; also, "Nasty Show" at 10:30 p.m. Saturday; $25-$60; 1-800-200-2882.

I don't use self-checkout. It just helps the store's profit margin by taking people's jobs
