Despite his omni-presence throughout New London, you probably wouldn't recognize Tom Bombria - and that's because his face is always hidden behind his camera. The dude is everywhere, snapping away at all sorts of events and happenings, not to mention shots taken in pursuit of his estimable artistic vision.

In the latter context, "On the Waterfront - Photographs by Tom Bombria" is a new exhibition opening with a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Custom House of the New London Maritime Society. As the title suggests, Bombria explores the settings of the Whaling City with compelling and nuanced images of ships (as per "Eagle 2," shown above), lighthouses, bridges and All Things Briney. Through April 14 at 150 Bank St., New London. Hours 1-5 p.m. Tues.-Sun.; (860) 447-2501; nlmaritimesociety.org.
