New London — All nine starters had a hit and scored a run as the Coast Guard Academy baseball team rallied to beat Mitchell College, 13-11, on Wednesday.
It was Coast Guard's fifth straight win in the series.
Blake Thompson's RBI single snapped a 11-11 tie in the seventh inning and the Bears (13-8) added another run on an error. Mark Behne finished 4-for-5.
Seniors Nolan Gallagher and Joe Petry each had an RBI double for the Bears. Riley Beecher (3-1) earned the win and Tyler Vieira added his sixth save.
Gavin LaLima of Waterford had two singles and two RBI and Fitch graduate Drew Doyle had two doubles and an RBIN for the Mariners (10-8).
In other games:
• Brian Rivera had four hits, two runs and an RBI and Alex Miller added two hits, four RBI and two runs as Avery Point beat the Eastern Connecticut JV, 13-4. Waterford's Pat Rodgers had two hits, two runs and two RBI for the Pointers (13-5) and Andrew Reel allowed just four hits over seven innings with two runs, two strikeouts and a walk for his first collegiate win. Eastern is 1-3.
• Coast Guard scored four runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and post a 6-4 victory over Wesleyan. Erin Lisko had a solo home run and Stacia Sarwinski had a three-run home run in the sixth. Jessie Richardson added two doubles for the Bears (11-8).
• Mitchell lost a doubleheader to Fitchburg State, 7-1 and 7-1. Shannon O'Neil had two hits and Dylan Riccardi had a hit and an RBI while Bridget Thomson of Mystic added a single in the first game for the Mariners (4-14).
• Coast Guard swept singles play en route to an 8-1 win over Springfield in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Blake Maurer, Robert Renfroe, Mark Weston Fortna, Mark Guentert, Andrew Bryson and Joe Sullivan-Springhetti won their matches for the Bears (3-7, 1-1).
